Amity Vineyards is located in the Eola-Amity Hills of Oregon's northern Willamette Valley, one of the premier Pinot Noir growing regions of the world. As one of Oregon's pioneer wineries, Amity Vineyards helped establish the Willamette Valley's reputation for world class Pinot noir and cool-climate white wines.
Since 1974 when Myron Redford came to Oregon and founded Amity Vineyards, the winery has continued its role as a pioneer, producing Americaï¿½s first true Gamay noir in 1988 and the first certified organic, sulfite-free Pinot noir in 1990. Amity also produces award-winning Pinot blanc, and dry and sweet Riesling and Gewurztraminer.
Having employed sustainable viticulture and dry-farming for years, Amity Vineyards is now one of the first Oregon wineries to participate in Oregon's Certified Sustainable Wine program (OCSW), which focuses on the shared principles of LIVE, Food Alliance, Oregon Tilth, and Detemer Biodynamic, among others. LIVE's Low Impact Viticulture and Enology promotes the vineyard as a whole ecosystem. To that
end Amity Vineyards minimizes the use of synthetic chemicals and fertilizers, maintaining the vineyard's natural fertility and biological diversity.
Over the years, Amity Vineyards has gained a reputation, both in the United States and abroad, for wines of structure, complexity and excellence.
